March Mom of the Month

Luda with her husband and grand children

Happy March!! The cold winds of winter are finally taking a warm turn here in New England. A new month means a new featured mom here at the RBP blog. I am super stoked to introduce our mom of the month for March, Luda Lidia!!

Luda has been married to her husband Dan for 30 years.  Together they have 4 children from ages 20-29, 2 boys and 2 girls, and 2 grandsons.  She works for a local school district in suburban Pennsylvania as a Teaching Assistant in Special Education for 13 years now. Luda is a first generation Ukrainian American and as a child she attended Ukrainian School every Saturday.  Her parents raised her with the culture and traditions from their homeland, and she has been passing it along to her children and grandchildren ever since.

Luda and the whole family!

I had the chance to talk to Luda and pick her brain about being a mom and a grandma. We also got to talk about her love for her family, and how her kids keep her fashionable and trendy. Check out our Q&A sesh!

Q. What do you like to do in the morning to start your day off on the right foot?

A. I thank God for the great day I’m going to have through positive prayers and vibes.

Q. What is the most unique situation you have been in which has made you proud as a mom?

A. What has been unique for me is being able to speak a different language with my children. I love how now I get to teach it to my grandchildren too.

Q. If you had to pick the funniest thing your children have ever said to you what would it be?

A. It’s not so much what they said to me but one of the funniest things my youngest child said, then age 5, asked our priest during communion “do you have white because I don’t like red.”

Q. Where do you get your fashion style from? What brands are your favorite, and what trends do you love?

A. I count on my daughters to keep me updated on the latest fashion and trends..lol!

Q. What is the best piece of advice you can give on raising a teenager?

A. It’s only a phase and soon they will be in their 20’s and telling you how to live!

Formal events always call for a family pyramid. ❤🤣

Q. Please share your experience thus far on being a young grandmother?

A. It’s so much fun! I love being a grandmother. Playing together with my grandchildren has held some of the best memories for me.

Q. What has been your proudest moment as a teacher?

A. As a Special Ed Teacher, every milestone the kids reach is rewarding to watch. I see them work hard, learn new skills and gain knowledge everyday. It makes me thankful and proud to be able to support them as they learn and grow.

Q. What has been your favorite vacation/ trip you have taken with your children?

A. Mostly we enjoy spending time down at the shore or up in the mountains every summer. We did take one vacation trip with the kids to Mexico which was a blast!

Q. Would you rather have steak or lobster?

A. Lobster!

Q. Where is your favorite date night spot with your husband?

A. Anywhere they serve margaritas 😄

A big thank you to Luda for taking the time to talk to me about being a mom and a young grandma.

Until next time! Stay Resilient,

❤ Mika
